Heronymus Bosch Letter Carrier

$18.00

With the ears of a Basset hound, tears in its eyes, and a funnel atop its head, this odd bird carries a letter in its beak and skates across the ice to deliver a message of forgiveness. Bosch could have painted this to symbolize the simony scandal where medieval Christians who had erred could buy their way into heaven.
