About the artwork: Jean-Michel Basquiat’s Toxic is a portrait of his friend, the New York artist and DJ Torrick Ablack (a.k.a. Toxic) who collaborated with him on music projects and worked as his occasional studio assistant. This portrait captures Toxic in a signature hat of the era.
