Wild Things Are Happening

 

Wild Things Are Happening is a comprehensive survey of Maurice Sendak's life and work, featuring unpublished sketches, storyboards, and paintings. This book, released in 2022-24 alongside a retrospective of Sendak's work, includes an essay by Thomas Crow on Where The Wild Things Are and interviews/appreciations from his key collaborators. Maurice Sendak (1928-2012), self-taught Brooklyn-born artist of Jewish descent, wrote and illustrated over 150 books during his 60-year career, collaborating with celebrated authors and illustrating classic works.
